The Rover 2S is Mares’s workhorse entry-level regulator, an unbalanced, unsealed piston design chosen by rental fleets and dive centers for its ruggedness and low service cost. It’s a solid budget or backup regulator for warm and temperate recreational diving, but its unsealed piston first stage makes it a poor match for cold water. Also sold in a DIN version.
