Aqualung LEG3ND Elite (DIN)

Aqualung's current flagship, the third-generation Legend line, built for cold and demanding conditions around a fully sealed diaphragm first stage.

Environmentally sealed, cold-water rated

Sealed first stage keeps water and ice crystals out of the internal mechanism, the standard for diving below 50°F/10°C.

"HP / LP ports" is the number of high-pressure and low-pressure ports on the first stage, which caps how many accessories (transmitter, SPG, inflator, second second-stage) you can run at once.

Pros
  • Permanent Dry Chamber keeps the first stage fully sealed from water and contaminants, not just splash-resistant
  • Dual anti-icing features, a heat exchanger plus overmolded diaphragm cap, back up its cold-water claims with actual hardware
  • Nitrox-ready to 40% out of the box, no separate O2-cleaning service needed before mixed-gas dives
Cons
  • Octopus sold separately, adding real cost on top of an already premium price
  • Aqualung's own spec pages show a roughly 30g discrepancy in second-stage weight versus some authorized-dealer listings
  • Sits at the top of three near-identical LEG3ND variants (base, MBS, Elite) that share the same first stage, so the price jump over the cheaper two is mostly for second-stage refinements

The LEG3ND Elite is the current, third-generation version of Aqualung’s long-running Legend line (marketed as “LEG3ND”), replacing the older Legend LX generation. It’s the brand’s top-of-range pick for divers who want a fully sealed, cold-water-capable first stage and are willing to pay for it; Aqualung also sells the same first stage in cheaper LEG3ND and LEG3ND MBS second-stage pairings, and in a yoke fitting.
