The DJI Osmo Action 6 pairs a 1/1.1“ square sensor with a variable f/2.0-f/4.0 aperture, DJI’s first action camera to offer adjustable aperture, aimed at handling the wide dynamic range between bright surface light and a dim reef or wreck. It’s IP68-rated to 20m with no housing at all, deeper than any other action camera covered here, and DJI’s own waterproof case extends that to 60m for deeper dives. The tradeoff versus GoPro is a smaller housing ecosystem: where a GoPro has dozens of third-party dive housings in different price and depth tiers, the Osmo Action 6 mostly relies on DJI’s own accessory line.
